Two days ago, a bucket elevator delivered by us has already arrived in Australia, now it is in installation process on site. However, our customer is wondering about the installation position of the asbestos tape as well as the function during installation. In this article I will introduce the function and installation method of the asbestos tape.
Asbestos consists of fiber bundle, fiber bundle is consisted of fibers which are thin and long shape and separated with each other. Asbestos has the advantage property such as highly fire-resistance, electric insulation and heat-resistance. The asbestos tape is made of superior asbestos which is applied for sealing material, heat-resistant material or other asbestos products.
The bucket elevator installation requires a good sealing property. Asbestos tape is the most common sealing material for bucket elevator, with it, the materials cannot leave out, this will reduce material waste, and also it can prevent the pollution outside. The position of asbestos tape should be installed between two casing flanges as a joint, which means we should insert an asbestos tape before connect the flanges, then connect it with bolts.
